The North Bengal Tea Producers’ Welfare Association is an Association of Bought Leaf Tea Factories of North Bengal. The Association was established in the year 2001 registered under West Bengal Societies Act. The Association looks after the interest of the Bought Leaf tea manufacturers of North Bengal.
The history of Bought Leaf factories is not very old and is about only 30 years back when the first factory came into being. The emergence of the Bought Leaf factories of North Bengal was to cater to the need of providing ready marketing facilities to the small tea growers who started to come up in a big way from 80’s with an accelerated horizontal growth 1995 onwards and the maximum growth was between 1995 to 2001.
The Association has its own premises at Siliguri at Goyal Plaza,Room No.10, 2nd Mile, Sevoke Road and it functions from this premise.
Over the years the leadership of the Association had proved them effective and visionary. The Association has an Executive Committee with an honorary post of Chairman, functional President, Vice-President, Secretary,Joint-Secretary,Treasurer besides others.
The Association has a full fledged functional secretariat with competent man power and Secretary having vast experience in tea industry for looking after day to day affairs of the members.
I am honored to address you as the President of the North Bengal Tea Producers’ Welfare Association (NBTPWA). Established in the year 2001 and registered under the West Bengal Societies Act, our association has been steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the interests of the Bought Leaf tea manufacturers of North Bengal.
Over the years, the NBTPWA has tirelessly worked towards creating a conducive environment for the Bought Leaf tea manufacturers. We have championed their cause, advocating for fair practices, equitable policies, and sustainable growth. Our mission extends beyond the boardrooms and into the heart of the tea gardens, where the hardworking men and women contribute to the rich tapestry of North Bengal tea.
In the face of challenges, our association has stood strong, adapting to the evolving dynamics of the tea industry. We have been proactive in addressing issues, collaborating with stakeholders, and fostering innovation. Our commitment to the well-being of our members remains unwavering, and we continue to explore avenues that enhance the socio-economic fabric of North Bengal.
